The discreet but charming municipality of Vielsalm has a lot to offer in terms of scenery and gastronomy, making it an Ardennes destination of the first order!
Below is a selection of some very fun activities and sights.
The beautiful lake is within walking distance of our B&B, less than a kilometre from our doorstep. A 2-kilometre paved walking and cycling path runs around the lake, which is easily accessible with a pram or wheelchair. Here and there are benches that invite you to sit down and enjoy the beautiful view. There is a small playground for children.
The walk is lovely in the spring greenery, among the autumn colours or in the winter snow.
Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed, but if you have a fishing licence from the Walloon Region, you are allowed to fish. There are many lawns, ideal for a picnic on a nice day, and you can enjoy a drink on the terrace of the sports hall.
Other terraces with a view of the lake can also be found at “Dalla Strega” and “Contes De Salmes”.
A wooden pavilion has been built on the lake, a nice spot to take photos, and concerts are held there in the summer months.
Want to know more about the history, folklore and legends of this beautiful region?
Then pay a visit to this museum. Thanks to a fun interactive trail in 4 languages at children's size, this will be a fun visit for the kids too.
